Mission
In striving to reach and maintain a high level of health and success for individuals, it is imperative to work closely with them in resolving social/emotional issues at a granular level through authentic and interactive discourse (talk therapy, mediational work, etc.), complemented by the use of effective cognitive behavioral devices (structure, timelines, etc.) to create an infrastructure of real change through enlightenment, activity, and realization of goals, giving individuals the actual skills necessary to succeed academically and emotionally.
Interacting with young people and their families in ways that promote transparency, dialogue, and resolution to most challenges, within a safe and secure environment, is fundamental and necessitates a finely balanced combination of traditional and non-traditional methods and techniques to reach common ground in any given scenario while establishing a culture of peace and collaboration among all concerned.
Our purpose is to provide solid social/emotional and academic skill sets for success in and outside of school, while nurturing values of diversity, equity, and cultural respect within ourselves and our youth, always seeking out creative pathways to retain core scholastic content, socialization imperatives, and personal goals.
By creating opportunities for self awareness, collaboration, and shared responsibility through participation in projects of mutual interest and benefit, students, their peers, and their families begin seeing new possibilities and begin thinking about themselves and others differently.
By establishing a sense of stewardship for what is built together, we actually weave the fabric of confluence, bringing together diverse and, at times, seemingly disparate segments of our families, communities, and populations in fulfilling academic and social pursuits within sustainable, safe, and successful environs.
We want our children and parents to realize they are empowered, that they have certain rights and responsibilities, and that they can change their situations and, in doing so, create a better foundation for the future, for themselves and others.
